ZimJourney 2017

Join us for a trip full of mission and immersion in the summer of 2017. There are three distinct goals this summer, listed below:

1) Building a second school wing in Gokwe South consisting of two classrooms and one separate building for preschool use. The team assists local workers with all aspects of building. The closest school for the children is 12km or over 7 miles from their homes.  There will be opportunities to share culture, meals, worship and friendship.

2) Placing of 3 clean water bore wells. The first of these wells is to serve the school in Gokwe South, enabling children and faculty nearby and clean water. Secondly to serve Mukumbura Village, a remote village near the border of Mozambique, currently relying on wells located over 4 miles away. The last well will be located at Kutenda Children’s Home to help provide for the growing needs of their service to the children and agricultural efforts.

3) As Kutenda Children’s Home grows, the original footprint needs to change. The third project is to build a kitchen hut and attach a dining room to the current building, to better facilitate the requirements imposed by the government to maintain a safe and communal home for the children.
